I am 33, a college graduate and consider myself to be fairly intelligent. I will admit, I am not and never have been a big history buff but I am ashamed to admit that I never knew a genocide took place 10 or so years ago in Africa...and I didn't know that Darfur was part of Sudan...extremely SAD. Our media focusses on the celebrities in Hollywood, American Idol and usually the conflict in Iraq....we are ignorant people..myself, being one of them. I have since been self educating and reading about what is happening in Sudan and Chad and I am saddened beyond belief. I want to help....just don't know how. Thank you for these blogs....we need to wake up America! Babies are dying...but we don't care....out of site...out of mind. I sleep beneath layers of irony. They keep me warm.
